Switching away from Barclays until Premier

I’m currently have a Barclays current account. I’m considering switching away from Barclays until I’m eligible for Barclays Premier.

In theory, if I do that, would I be eligible for the 25,000 avios bonus?
I also have a Mortgage with Barclays, does that make a difference?

I switched away for a Virgin offer and straight back to Premier and had no problems regarding the avios bonus.
