Tampa Delta lounge: OK flying Virgin Atlantic with Amex Platinum?

Hi there,

Does anyone have any experience in the last few months of entering the Delta lounge at Tampa airport on a Virgin Atlantic ticket using their Amex Platinum? I’m flying Premium Economy so I wouldn’t get access on my ticket alone.

It’s okay, but a bit generic. Think white false ceilings, looks somewhat office-like. I prefer to get to TPA as late as possible and get a Starbucks quickly before boarding.

Sorry, I mean CAN I get access with Amex Platinum on a virgin ticket? Will they let me in?

The Amex lounge finder webpage says “Platinum Card, a same-day Delta flight boarding pass and a government-issued I.D.” under entry requirements.

So, no access. Your flight is not operated by Delta nor is your ticket issued by them.

Sigh – I guess I was just desperately hoping that as Virgin are part of a joint venture with Delta someone out there had experience of being let in – I guess not!
