Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Tenfold increase in no of tier points for BA Bronze – Mar 2024 to Jul 2025

I know there have been changes to how many BA tier points are awarded per flight but i have only just noticed that I now seem to need 3,500 tier oints for Broze as per the BA site:
    https://www.britishairways.com/content/the-british-airways-club/about-tier-points

whereas, as recently as March 2024, your site was listing:

To earn British Airways Executive Club status, you need to earn:
300 tier points in a membership year for Bronze
    https://www.headforpoints.com/2024/03/24/how-many-tier-points-does-each-british-airways-flight-earn/

Is the 3,500 currently on the BA site a mistake?
I did try searching for this using Google as recommended but could not find anthing that relates to this tenfold increase.
    Any thoughts on this, please?

The whole TP system was changed as of 1st April 2025

Was announced in late December 2024.

Not only was the way TPs were calculated changed so was the number to achieve status.

Many thanks, “Freckles”, I had seen that announcement but what I had failed to remember was the ten-fold increase!

It isn’t a tenfold increase because it’s effectively a change of currency, hence sometimes referred to as nTP (new tier points).

Depending on the flights taken maybe two – three times, more if you consider the most advantageous TP runs previously available, but not ten.

I don’t know if I can trust the people that say “I read the whole article bla bla bla” and then basically show you they didn’t.
