    Hi all.

    Many thanks

I used it successfully on 17/Jul, but only for about £900.

Not looking too good: 150 points showing on the Tesco Bank app; would expect about 1000 from tax payments.
However, August statement will be ready in the next few days, and that should clarify it.

I’ve shifted to 3% via Plutus, which is a real faff because the cashback is via “tokens” which you have to sell on a cryptocurrency exchange afterwards, but at lest they explicitly call out that cashback on HMRC is a supported use-case: https://support.plutus.it/hc/en-us/articles/4713263751197-How-to-earn-PLU-Rewards

I used it for £800 on the 31/08 and the points posted fine

There were some questions about Plutus in yesterday’s daily thread which I didn’t get to before the thread was over. Original post is here.

I’ll mention again that this is a startup (albeit with a long history already, I’ve been using them for 2+ years), rules are changing, crypto is involved, and it’s not smooth sailing. But fun and lucrative for folks that like this sort of thing such as myself.

I’ll try to consolidate answers here:

Never heard of Plutus, looks worth trying. Thanks for the link, I used it too and hope you this will give you some return. Could I just ask do we need to use debit cards with Plutus for HMRC or will credit cards be okay so the returns can potentially stack?

Plutus is itself a Debit card, so you can either use it directly or via Curve without Fronted since it’s debit. It plays well with Curve (they sometimes cross-promote each other – you can get a £10 rebate on Curve’s monthly fee as one of Plutus perks https://twitter.com/imaginecurve/status/1585271644368642051 https://twitter.com/imaginecurve/status/1656693834506555392)

Can I use the as well?

This is about my referral link – https://dex.plutus.it/auth/referee/signup?refId=p61WUg
Yes, unlimited uses. It’s £10 for both, paid with the token.

The latest change of cashback limits and tiers are explained here, but they’re not yet live and no definite date: https://medium.com/plutus/pluton-new-reward-levels-accounts-f51993efc8ed
So right now these apply: https://plutus.it/new-fees
And importantly, for 14.99 you get 3% on up to £22500 a month, so you can try and squeeze HMRC spending into September. Also 3 “perks” which are a £10 each rebate for e.g. Amazon, Curve subscription fees, Tesco, etc etc, the list is long.
