We have noticed on our last couple of Tesco online grocery orders that, after we have paid, using our BA AMEX card, we get this message:
“American Express not accepted – coming soon.”
We applied for the card (“British Airways American Express Premium Plus Card”) to get the 2:4:1 companion voucher for business class, thinking we would reach the limit by paying for our groceries.
Does anyone know the timescale for this? Does anyone know whether Sainsbury’s will also go down this path?
Cannot see anything on the Sainsbury’s or Tesco websites – and have not seen anything yet on HfP?
I used Amex on Tesco just today. And multiple times over the last few weeks. It’s all working fine.
My understanding is that this only applies to the newish “Tesco Marketplace”. Grocery shopping should continue as is.
I had this recently then discovered I had inadvertently logged in to the Irish site and placed my grocery order! I have no idea how I managed to do that and also have it delivered in the north of England 🤷♀️
