    Morning all,

I have tried searching the forums for this but couldn’t find anything so sorry if I just missed it (I was surprised not to find anything).

I’m wondering if anyone can help recommend a hotel for a 7-10 day stay in Thailand in December. I think I’ve sorted flights and Bangkok but am looking for somewhere for beach and nature.

I thought I had nailed it with the Pimalai but they aren’t available. That seemed to balance beach, nice property with good facilities, nature on the doorstep and plenty to explore on the island if we want to – or not if we don’t.

I’m thinking Krabi or Khao Lak areas (I.e. dry season in December and within an hour or two of the airport) but would consider anywhere. I’ve only been to Krabi, Phuket and Khao Lak outside of Bangkok. Hua Hin beaches don’t look fantastic and lacking nature (eg lizards/monkeys wondering around) but am happy to being told I’m wrong.

Sadly I can’t stretch to an Aman, Trisara etc level.

    Many thanks for your help.

    Souvi

Pimalai is a good option as you say, have you emailed them to see if they can squeeze you in?

The search function of the forum is goosed, but if you google headforpoints and include your query it should give some options on the site.

The Sarojin is v v good – the best in Khao Lak. The a la carte breakfast served all day is simply superb.

The Avani+ deserves an honourable mention, at a lower price point.

Thanks both. Yes I’ve tried emailing Pimalai direct and no luck.

I’ve stayed at the Sarojin and agree it is fantastic. It would have been up there but I perhaps should have mentioned that we are travelling with kids (I deliberately didn’t as not looking for kids clubs, entertainment etc) so can’t go there this time.

I’ll take a look at Avani+ and will search the forums the old way too.

I’m leaning towards Banyan Tree Krabi at the moment.

    All other thoughts very welcome.
