Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club The new Avios shopping site is awful

The first point is that it now takes 3 clicks to get to the search to find retailers each time, instead of it just being at the top of every page like it was before. This is so frustrating.
The second point is that actually earning Avios is now massively painful – a lot of things don’t seem to be tracking and even the ones that do sit there for weeks and weeks and still not actually getting the Avios collected. I have logged claims for missing Avios on a number of significant purchases (e.g. Booking.com, Viator) and again weeks have gone by without any response.
Are others having a similar experience?

Yes it’s awful, I do get tracking emails but I don’t expect anything to actually pay out based on history. I’ve only used it a few times recently as no other cashback or miles shopping site had that particular retailer.

The most awful thing here is that people are still using the BA eStore.
    Don’t, just don’t.

As I mentioned on the daily chat a couple of times, my experience with the United store is the complete opposite. Stuff rarely tracks but claims are responded to within 48 hours (as per the email you get when you submit a claim) and the miles get paid out within a few days after that. Perksatwork are similar. I wish all these sites were as professional and ethical.

Speaking of PAW, is there a beginners guide somewhere in the annals of HfP forum? I logged in for the first time a fortnight ago and was mystified by it.

Not really, it works the same way as all the cashback sites. Make sure ad blockers are off, cookies are cleared etc. You get the usual proportion of stuff that doesn’t track but when you raise a missing claim ticket they’re excellent.

It has generally better discounts on gift cards than Airtime, and they pay in PAW points which you can convert to Amazon etc. When they do promotions they’re excellent, but I generally find more alluring miles/cashback elsewhere these days.

I think AirBnB is the only site that I use that isn’t on TCB (but is on the eStore).
Are there any other significant travel related sites exclusively on the eStore?
