    I need to earn 200 tier points by 31 March to reach Silver.

    Virgin’s Tier calculator has a number of codes, wondering if folks here now what they mean eg full fare, discounted….specifically,

    H
    K
    P
    W
    S

    You currently only need 300 tier points for silver

    Yep, I have 100 already.

    Follow up – do both members need to be silver to have a Virgin household account?

    If I am silver can I add my partner who is red to a household account?

    Check out the “How many Tier Points you’ll earn in each cabin (one way)” section of this webpage to match your flight class to TPs earned

    Do you earn Tier Points on reward flights? Rob ran an article last February indicating this was the case however the wording at the link above where “Every time you fly” bears an asterisked footnote “Excludes Points Plus Money and reward flights” against both paragraphs would suggest this is not the case.

    Is it crappy language on the webpage or have VS quietly and sneakily rescinded this, does anyone know?

    W, S, H, K and P are all premium fare buckets. W is fully flexible and refundable, and earns 100 TPs per sector; S is like W, aside that change fees apply and it is not refundable. H is only available far out and earns 50 TPs as well as being non-refundable but flexible for fees; K is like H, except it has no advance purchase requirement. P is for reward bookings.

    HHA registration is currently suspended; they are improving the process so you can sign up from your VS account. I hope we’ll see this launch in time for joining SkyTeam.

    Yes – you do. There are a number of wording oddities on the VS website; this is one of them. Earning TPs on reward flights is listed as a benefit for Red, Silver and Gold members. “Points and Money” refers to when you’re reducing a cash fare with points, rather than paying full points plus the YQ separately (which is a redemption). If you upgrade with points from a cash fare, then you’ll earn – by default – no VS Points but TPs from your upgraded cabin (or, at least, you do as a Gold member), but you can ask to instead take the VS Points and TPs from the cash cabin. I do that because I have qualified for Gold at least twice this year, so TPs are now meaningless to me until my new year, as they don’t roll over.

    @AL many thanks. Whats HHA?

    @Southlondonphil
    – I booked points flight to Austin and upgraded with a voucher to PremiumEcon. Return. Received no points but did get 100 Tier points.

    @AL – Thanks for the comprehensive reply, most helpful. Means my goal to renew Gold by end Feb-23 is still on track and no further last-minute TP runs are required. 🙂
