My wife and I have been BA gold members for a number of years and have just managed gold for the next 11 months. As we only travel for leisure we have no chance of gold next year.
Going forward we joined KLM/Air France using the tier match offer and booked Manchester to Amsterdam in economy. We were led to believe we could use the 1903 lounge in T2 Manchester, not true. We are now in the KLM lounge at Amsterdam and not impressed.
I presume the most pragmatic approach would be to wait until after Christmas and hope that Lufthansa offer their match again. This way, as suggested on this site, we can extend our level for another year.Did you get access to any lounge at MAN? What led you to believe you would get it?

You’re issue isn’t with the status match but with KLs lounge access policies.
Was your KL status on the BP for example?
I guess the SkyTeam lounge finder website makes it look, a bit, like the 1903 is for AF/KL because of the way it’s laid out? When that section actually refers to VS?
This is what I’m wondering. Did they get no lounge access at all, or allowed into Escape/Aspire instead of 1903?
