Hello. I am a gold for life member of the BA EC. My tier point collection year ends on 8 May and I currently have 4900 tier points this year. I am on a trip and due to fly back on 20 May. That flight would earn me 140 points and take me into Gold Guest List. Having read the HFP articles on getting a two week extension of the tier collection year I called BA but was told that that extension policy doesn’t apply to the threshold from gold to gold guest list.
Would appreciate any advice on this, especially as I was GGL until last year and then found that I had to reach 5000 tier points again to re qualify this year instead of the 3000 GGL renewal threshold.That is correct.
Depending on where in the world you are it might be worth your while to do a mini a tap run to get the 140 TPs

That’s disappointing! I only need 100 points but I’m in Accra, so don’t think that can be done easily before 8 May…
A quick look at the ACC wiki page shows Qatar and Royal Air Maroc have flights from there. No idea of the prices or practicalities of that though but you’d get TPs
