We had booked to go to Antigua last October with BAH flying WTP. Last summer CW Avios availability appeared and I upgraded the return leg with Avios. I got Covid 2 days before departure and BA were able to move the trip to May this year.
It was my understanding that we would only get tier points for the original 2 WTP legs (2 x 90 ), but when I go into MMB it shows as 230 tiers points each (90 WTP leg + 140 for CW leg) for the booking.
Should we be getting the extra tier points from the Avios upgrade? Is it a glitch? Has it been caused by the rebooking? What are our chances of getting them with the double tier points offer? It puts us within 155pts of Gold, so if we were going to get them we would plan another short trip to get the last 160 points.
Yes it’s caused by the rebooking. I think it’s inadvertantly benefitted a lot of people but it’s too much work for anyone to go back and put it all right plus imagine all the grief BA would get for taking points away.
It’s possible when the BAH double TPs post that they will realise the error – it’s a manual process – and there is a chance they won’t catch it at all.
Sorry that dosen’t help with you planning an extra trip or not though!
When does your collection year end? Might give you some flexibility in booking something with BWC to cover either eventuality
