All,
Just wondering, what is the procedure for this?
I am doing a BA tier point run with BA holiday. So the plan was five nights in Istanbul, from Manchester via Heathrow with BA Holiday Club Euro all the way through, which will get be Silver just before they raise the threshold for silver.
As usual, with my luck, the leg from MAN to LHR was delayed, so I missed the LHR to IST.
The agent can only book me on the next flight the next day with Euro Traveler.
So, just wondering, will I get the Club Euro tier points or Euro Traveler tier points? Thanks
You should raise a claim ORC (original routing credit) from BA, as well as getting them to calculate any refund due for the downgraded leg. The missing points should be credited based on date of travel.
Hi,
Thanks, how can I raise a original routing credit for Tier Points?
I can see that they have credited me 40 points for MAN to LHR and 40 for LHR to IST (should be 80 for Club Euro).
They have refund me the one night missed for the hotel. And I am trying to get a refund for the down grade.
How about compensation? How does that normally work for BA? I think it is calculated for distance as well as how long was the delay? Thanks
I’d send them an email via this link:
https://www.britishairways.com/travel/customerportal/public/en_gb#/customer-service-portalAs for the downgrade compensation that is problematic since it was only one sector so I suggest claiming Avios instead.
You should also claim for the hotel at LHR (if not already paid by BA), As for compensation that depends on the reason for the delayed MAN flight which caused you to be rerouted but again I’d just claim as it is for BA to prove why compensation is not due.
I’d type something like this:
Dear BA,
On my recent itinerary on British Airways, my <LIST FLIGHT DETAILS AND CLASS OF SERVICE> was impacted due to IRROPS.
My original routing on <DATE> was <AAA-BBB-CCC> on flights <FLIGHT NUMBERS> in <CLASS OF SERVICE>, but due to <DESCRIBE DELAY IN A FEW WORDS, e.g. mechanical delay, canceled flight, weather delay, etc.>, I was instead routed on <DATE>, <AAA-BBB-CCC> on flights <FLIGHT NUMBERS> in <CLASS OF SERVICE>.
I would like to request Original Routing Credit, as the originally flown itinerary would credit more tier points and Avios than originally received.
I would also like to claim for downgrade compensation for the LHR to IST sector as I was placed in Euro Traveller despite originally booking Club Europe. Given that this is not so easy to calculate I am happy to receive 10,000 Avios instead
My ticket number for this itinerary is <TICKET NUMBER> and the <AIRLINE> <PNR|record locator> is <AAAAAA>.
Thanks for your time and patience!
Hi,
Thanks, i have been told on that day (in fact, the night before) that the delay was due to operation reason due to crew rest hour legistration.
For the hotel, BA booked me an overnight stay in Heathrow, so I was not out of pocket for that.
It is just the tier points that i am lookong for.

Hi,
Just wondering, as you now that this will take forever. It say that I get my Club Euro tier points back like 3 months later. Will I still be qualify with the lower threshold (450) of Silver?
Thanks
Sorry, auto correct is not helping. I was meant to say.

You should get your tier points credited with an effective date of the date of travel, so yes it should count towards the lower threshold if it means you reach that number by end December 2022, including those backdated points. If that doesn’t happen, you would need to call BA and ask them to correct it…….
Hi,
Thanks. How long does this normally takes? 3 months? 6 months?
Thanks

As you have probably seen from other examples here and elsewhere, Its a bit ‘how long is a piece of string’ – my most recent experience of this back in August was credited a month after I raised the claim.

Thanks, for your info. Will see how long is it going to take them.
Hi,
Just wondering, is there a way to check the compensation progress?
Thanks
After 4 months, finally got my tier points.

Backdated or is it from today?
