I read with interest your recent article on how to earn BA Tier Points. You mentioned that you can only earn full tier points by booking via the British Airways Holiday website and not via ba.com and then, for example, adding a rental car.
I recently booked flights to Bordeaux via ba.com, and then added a rental car. Just checked my account. I got full tier points credit for the entire cost of flights + rental car AND I got the 75 bonus tier points for each of the two fligthts.
Not sure how consistently BA are interpreting and applying the rules. I’m delighted, having read your article I thought I would miss out.
It all depends on the point at which the car (or hotel) is added and whether it’s priced as a single package or separate costs for flights and extras listed individually.
It doesn’t matter which web page you start from, only where you end up. The difference is that if you start from the main BA homepage you have to be more careful if you specifically want a holiday package.
