Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Tier Points / using Avios to pay for flights

  • 1 post

    Hello,

I’m wondering if you get the same amount of tier points if you use avios towards the cost of the flight?

E.g. if the ticket class would give me 40 tier points and I use some avios to reduce the cost of the ticket, would I still receive all 40 tier points?

    Thanks in advance

Under the current tier point system, yes.

Under the new system from next week, I suspect you still get tier points based on the original price of the ticket.

I have just checked a booking made for September where I used 3k avios to get £ 30 off.

The TPs showing in MMB are based on the cost of the eligible items of the full price of the ticket before the £30 was deducted.
