Living 40minutes from Manchester Airport, the changes to TP earning throw up the possibility of direct flights to NYC, no need for the extra leg to London. It was always a nice 80 point add on so was worth doing. Once we know the way TP from other airlines will earn this my be another positive for us closer to Manchester. The only issue is, how good is Aer Lingus Business? Never done it, but if it saves time and possibly even gives me more points as it can be higher price I would seriously consider it. In reality, with a couple of transatlantic trips a year I was only ever going to get to silver, but the holiday promotion made gold possible and I have done it. Given I already have a solo double TP holiday booked for April earning 760 TP under the current scheme, I assume that will be converted but I am not sure at what rate.
HFP have done a few EI reviews, see below. I haven’t processed the TP changes fully but I don’t think spend on other airlines may count in the same way as on BA?

Thanks for the reply, I’m pretty sure they haven’t announced that part yet. Or at least I can’t find it.
I’ve seen something about it in the very long Flyertalk thread, but it’s a VERY long thread …
Also, don’t forget Aer Lingus are not part of One World so the associated benefits are quite poor. I doubt any travel with them would significantly contribute to BA status.
No TPs currently on EI because they’re not in OW, so I think this is unlikely to change under the new system.
In the summarised piece on TLFL, it says AA and IB earning will be revenue-based, other “partner” airlines will get a percentage of TPs.
Seems designed to keep people spending on BA, IB and AA!
Post 1st April 2025 EI earning info readily available on BA.com off via FAQ.
Tier Points awarded (percentage of miles flown)
From 1 April 2025:
Economy Lowest (A, G, O, Z): 4%
Economy Low (Q, N, F, S, V, L, M, K): 7%
Economy Flexible (Y, B, H): 15%
Business Low (R, I): 25%
Business Flexible (J, C, D): 50%
NorthernLass.
Should have looked a bit harder! 😉

Since last April.
At a glance
Included: Aer Lingus and Emerald Airlines (EA).
Minimum Avios: 300 (may vary in discount economy (World Traveller)).
Avios Tier bonus? No.
Earn Tier Points? Yes – effective from 1 April 2024 (discount economy (World Traveller) flights may earn fewer Tier Points depending on the fare purchased).
All the others, ignoring AA/BA/IB are mileage based, so potential opportunities to get more NTPs per £ than with BA directly. My recent RTW would have got 15000 NTPs and been much closer to 20000 if I maximized the options and lost the BA and AA segments where possible………at way less than half of the £20k(£25K)spend required on BA.
I think this is where the new TP earning opportunities will be focused, people looking at best NTPs for their £ on partner airlines routes.
