Are you looking in the UK or overseas?

I have had a few days on the Algarve recently at Pine Cliffs and I must say its pretty much the ideal option for burning a shed load of Marriott points if you’re that way inclined.

I paid cash but got a great price (for June) – July and August can be eye wateringly expensive especially when you factor in last minute flights so points might be a better option. You will need a lot!

We travelled as a couple but for an upscale family resorts with guaranteed weather you would find it hard to beat. It’s not cheap but right up there IMHO.

One thing to check before booking is that hotels have strict room pccupancy rules and 5 people in a room – even if some of them are kids – simply won’t be allowed.

You might not mind but they will.

I have found with a family of 5 you can often e-mail the hotel direct to ask for an extra bed, especially with your youngest being small, and they’ll accept it in a room designated for 4. Also, not Marriott, but Hilton’s app is very good at identifying rooms suitable for 5 people, there’s plenty in London and is often much cheaper than buying two connecting rooms (although you can also do that). Just do a search in the rough area you’re looking for.
