Tirana and Northern Albania

Mrs T and I are doing a BA holiday next month, based in the HGI Tirana with a hire car for a week. Mrs T is in to birds and wildlife generally, I’m after scenery and history.

I know there’s a lot of interesting stuff in the south, but wonder if the HfP experts can come up with suggestions for north/ central Albania? (Not sure if the car hire – AVIS through BA – will allow Montenegro/ Kosovo/ North Macedonia entry). Thanks all!

Find out about your car – we drove from Tirana to Prizren in Kosovo (and back) last year and loved it. The journey certainly has scenery!

Shkoder and the Valbona area are already on our initial plans, but thought the HfP crew would come up with good ideas!
