Just been told that our flight from Kos to LGW on Sunday will be operated by Titan Airways “for operational reasons”. Anyone have experience of them? We are in Club Europe – any idea whether Titan operate business class or whether all passengers are “equal”?
Obviously impossible to get through to BA by phone to ask.
You will have an empty middle seat in Club. It will just be on a Titan liveried aircraft and crewed by Titan Airways staff. It will be fine. Not really any different to BA as you will still get food and drink on board.
Had this happen to me in 2019 on a flight between LGW and Tenerife. Effectively BA wet lease the aircraft to operate on their behalf
Whether there is an empty seat will depend on what plane Titan is using and they have several configurations
@Tsar needs to check the seat map in MMB
Based on the seatmap you may be getting lucky – it is potentially 2 x 2 recliner style seats in the first 7 rows (as row 7 is economy but still showing a 2×2 config)
Also pretty cool to be getting a flight on a 757!
Otherwise the service should be as per BA – I did a flight with them back in 2018 and got the usual BA service
If you’re on a B757 – they have 2. Normal 3×3 on each, however T.A. can configure the aircraft to the client requirements. It’s likely, given the aircraft change (to a larger aircraft), there will be room for the T.A ‘business seats’ to be loaded into the front cabin, in which case this should be fine and you will get 2 x 2 with larger seats. However, it’s also likely BA won’t pay extra for this configuration! So you may end up with 3×3 with the middle seat unused.
It will be a welcome break from the monotony of BA A320 European flying!
Titan generally very good with excellent crews.
I am flying this next Tuesday – I will report back!
Looks like B757 G-ZAPX is positioning from Stansted to Gatwick today and operating to Bari and Kos tomorrow.
