    Hey all,

Does anyone know if it’s possible to transfer Cathay Pacific miles to BA / Avios?

I assumed this would be possible since they’re both oneworld members, but I’ve had a look around and can’t find much about it.

With Brex (US bank) I have the option to transfer points to:
    – Cathay
    – Qantas
    – Flying Blue
    – Aeromexico
    – avianca
    – KrisFlyer
    – Emirates

I’d ideally like to get these into BA avios somehow, I assumed Cathay would be my best bet but not sure if it’s possible.

    Thanks!

It’s not possible, you generally can’t convert one airline currency into another (except between airlines who all use the same currency, eg Avios).

If you could move your Brex points to Marriott then you could move them to BA from there (never heard of Brex, so no idea what’s possible)

What do you want the Avios for? If it’s to book a reward flight on a OneWorld airline, then transferring to Cathay or Qantas might still work for that purpose. You’d need to read up online for OneWorld availability in each scheme.

    The possible path:
CX: Brex -> CX Asia Miles -> Marriott Bonvoy (2:1) -> Avios (3:1 with bonus) (60000 Asia Miles for 30000 Marriot points for 10000 Avios)
SQ: Brex -> SQ KrisFlyer -> Accor ALL (4500:1000) -> IB Avios (3000:3000) (45000 Krisflyer points for 10000 Accor ALL points for 10000 IB Avios)

In summary, heavy loss ensued if you really want to get them into Avios.
