Transferring Avios from BA to Finnair

I have seen some flights that I would like to book with Finnair. I have linked my BA account to Finnair but it only shows my own individual balance not my household account balance. Does anybody know if there is a way to access all of the avios?

You can move Avios between Finnair accounts. So transfer individually from BA to Finnair and combine there. There’s a small (€10) charge from memory.

What I can’t recall (someone will add) is if transfer BA – Finnair (I think not) or Finnair – Finnair (I think yes…) requires accounts to have been open for a certain time (3 months?).

There is no time limit on moving Avios from BA to Finnair. It would have made the new partnership look a bit stupid if no-one could open a new Finnair or BA account and do a transfer immediately.

Not sure about Finnair to Finnair.

Remember that you may be able to book the same flights on ba.com. Not sure whether the price is necessarily identical, but worth a look as that would split the Avios cost across the household account.

May have imagined it but I read somewhere that you need to ask Finnair CS to combine Avios if the account is less than 90 days old?

Hi there – I’ve noticed that Finnair is showing different availability for Avios redemptions than BA. For example, no availability on 26 March from LON to HKG on the BA website (or on Reward Flight Finder), but Finnair is showing availability for BA in Club on the 1740 departure. Is it usual that there are differences in availability between the sites? I have no status (blue/basic) on either. Many thanks
