Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

I’m landing at 0005 Doha and have a connecting flight at 0245. Both with Qatar. I assume this is enough time, what is the transit like at Doha airport, do I need to go through customs? Assuming the flight arrives on time will there be enough time to use the Qatar lounge to eat and shower?

And if the first flight is delayed so the connection is missed, will Qatar resolve sensibly or as its outside of the EU will it be a pain in the ass?

I’ve always avoided connecting flights but these were good deals using Avios.

Someone asked this the other day and there were a few informative responses. I’ll see if I can spot the post.

This is plenty of time, you may go through a quick security check but you’ll have plenty of time to go to the lounge and take a shower. Note that the garden lounge showers do not have toilets inside so go do your business first!!!

If connection is missed you’ll be rebooked and a hotel provided if required, but no compensation if your origin was outside the UK/EU

    Great info, thank you.

It would help if you said where you are arriving from and departing to as some arrivals (from UK for instance) avoid transit security but even with that you would only add another 5-10 mins. It’s designed as a transit hub and works well in that respect. Also some destinations have further scanners at the departure gate (eg Australia).

You should have plenty of time to use the lounge(s) and the choice will probably depend on which gate you arrive at or which you will leave from.

If you are more specific about class of travel and status you will get more detailed info about lounges etc.
