Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points
I am flying LHR-DOH in CW on a BA award (using AmEx companion voucher) and then DOH-PEE in F on QR on an award booked through BA using Avios.
Due to awkward flight times (outbound arrives 23:30 and departs 02:30) and having bags to recheck, I’m going to need to stay in Doha and leave a day later.
If my entire itinerary was with QR, I understand I could use the Discover Qatar Stopover packages, but I don’t think this is an option with my situation.
Without such a deal, I think I’m stuck with booking a hotel for 2 nights each way if I want to be able to access the room outside the normal check-in check-out cycle.
Does anyone have any experience of this or similar please? Any suggestions or advice would be gratefully received!
Scratch that!
I managed to solve my problem by scrapping the use of the companion voucher and booking with QR all the way LHR – PER. Avoiding need to stay over and recheck bags suits me and the connections are much better.
