Hi,
Is BA currently linked to AA .
Experiencing problems trying to book internal US flights with Avios , showing up as no available flights
Anyone know what is going on?
My understanding is that BA doesn’t have access to the same inventory as AA – and are you sure there are seats available to your destination? They tend to be released quite a bit later than BA award seats.
The same as always, seats must be at what used to be called the AASaver level. Unfortunately you can’t see that any more.
You’re looking for the absolute lowest 8-10k rate on the AA website. If you can find any of those you should be able to see them on BA’s site.
What routes and dates are you looking at?
Note AA doesn’t release at T-355..
Have a muck about with earlier dates and work towards your desired date… I think it is about 10 months prior.
Was trying to book New York to Orlando in December after we arrived in the USA from a transatlantic cruise on the 17th.
Thought that it would be nice to have a week or two in the sunshine state rather than NY in December.
As usual it’s a nightmare trying to get some value at short notice with Avios.
Having similar problems trying to use Flying Blue miles to book with Delta to get back to Europe, hoping to go to Berlin to catch up with family, either side of New Year
You’ve got no chance on that date. If you look at the AA site (it has to be a non-stop flight) to MCO there are none after 15th Dec to MCO from any NYC airport.
There are two flights available on the 15th from EWR and from JFK – Those should be bookable on BA.com but no use to you. There are no further non stop flights until 3rd Jan.
It’s late to be booking for the Xmas period, especially as it’s the first Xmas that people have been able to travel freely since the pandemic.
What about Bermuda? There looks to be good availability from NYC on December 18th and it’s only a 2 hour flight; it’s not usually beach weather but it would be a lot warmer than New York!
Obviously it would be a lot more expensive than Orlando but I don’t know if that’s a consideration for you.
