Unable to change to a different card – Platinum to Barclaycard Avios Mastercard

Hi there,

For the past few weeks, I have been trying to change my Barclaycard Platinum to a Barclaycard Avios Mastercard. It looks like the only way to do this is via the app but every time I check it says “No other options available”.

I have seen in this forum that some people had the same issue but then one day somehow they had the option to change. Has any of you had the same problem? Do you have any suggestions besides keep checking? Is there anything I could do to speed this up?

I know one option is to close the account and try in 6 months but I don’t think I want to do that so I prefer to wait.

If you had this issue recently I would really appreciate your comments.

Can’t answer your question, obviously you have your own reason as to why you won’t want to cancel and wait 6 months. But I just wanted to mention that you are aware the bonus is much smaller (if) you were allowed to switch cards compared to cancel and re-apply which will come with a sign up bonus between 25k to 50k based on the last year for 3k spend.
