Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Unable to link Amex Membership Rewards account to Virgin Atlantic

  • 39 posts

Hi Folks, As per title I’m having problems linking my Platinum Membership Rewards account to my Virgin Atlantic Account. A trial transfer 2 weeks ago didn’t go through and Amex Chat found that Virgin was the problem – rejected at their end. I’ve tried again with no luck so searching for the best telephone number for Virgin rewards club?
    Can anyone help?

Apologies for time wasting but I’ve just realised that 0344 874 7747 (general customer service) also deals with Flying Club issues. Hopefully, they have solved the problem now!

Having a similar issue. I have a 10 digit FC#, so no need for two 00’s to proceed it, however my FC# was rejected. Any ideas before calling Amex?

Mine has been constantly rejected since November.

Raised it with Amex who have thus far not managed to link them.

They keep saying it’s due to a name mismatch, but the names do match!

My problem was solved by an email account change. My membership rewards account kept rejecting the link because of a mismatch in the email addresses.

Could you elaborate. My Amex and flying club emails are the same. And unable to link

Well my problem was actually caused by an error on my part. I believed that the emails matched but I had used a different email for Virgin. A simple change of email address on my Virgin account and a 24 hour wait to try again solved my problem. Hope you get yours sorted soon.

I had the same problem. Turns out, it is case sensitive. Amex had my name in uppercase, Virgin in title case. Changing my name to uppercase on Virgin system fixed the issue and I was able to link the accounts. Hope that works for you too

I’m having the same problem. Just contacted Virgin to ask them to update my middle name (only showing initial letter, whereas Amex have my middle name in full), now have to wait 24 hours and try again.

I had this issue recently where my attempts kept getting rejected.

Amex linked the accounts manually when I spoke to them on the Amex Chat.

Possibly something to do with my middle name and/or middle initial being on one of the accounts.
