Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Unable to pre-book meals in CW

Travelling LHR to São Paulo on 31st March in CW but manage my booking is not allowing us to pre-book our meals as it says you can’t book a meal this close to your flight time.

Is this expected ? Last time I flew in CW (pre-covid days) I was able to pre-book meals.

    Thanks.

Not been possible in CW and F for a long time now. It was initially because of Covid protocols but other airlines have brought back full service so BA can’t really use that excuse now. It’s very poor.

*Also recent reports suggest that the meals which are available leave much to be desired. Probably not what you want to hear on a flight that long!

Went on that route a month ago, continuing on to Buenos Aires. Even if you could order in advance, you would be disappointed. There is some sort of ok-ish chicken pie or fish or pasta (terrible) and everything is served at once based on the excuse that you will probably still be getting that they are operating on minimum crew. It’s all the same colour and best to get the disappointment over with quickly and sleep. The wine isn’t worth drinking either I’m afraid; really red for cooking or white for descaling. The English breakfast was a small glimmer of hope. The Club Suite is a big improvement, but the rest leaves much to be desired.

As @NorthernLass suggests, this is the “new normal” post coronavirus. The better news is in-flight, things are getting back to normal, albeit as one service.
