Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Up to date list of BA routes?

  • 74 posts

Sorry if this is asked and answered but my Google-fu is failing me.

All I want is a list of where BA flies to from each UK airport, an interactive map would be amazing but probably asking too much. I’ve found a couple of pages that come close but they either don’t limit the destinations to direct flights from the origin airport or they are city based so they glob all London airports together, which isn’t helpful.

    Any suggestions would be great.

I think flightconnections can do this, but you have to subscribe.

Thanks, that’s one of the ones I had looked at but the free version has routes on that the BA site says don’t exist so I ruled it out.

Maddening BA, Iberia etc don’t just have this as a feature. They know their routes! Just put them on the website 🤣

BA.com is useless on “Where we fly”. Still lists Nantes and Quimper as destinations in France – but there are no flights to either of these airports in 2024.

BA on the whole are very unhelpful! They have stopped flying MAN-LGW but don’t make it any easier to identify LHR/LGW departures so I can easily see where I can connect to with minimum stress.

They DO have a separate page for LCY departures, but maybe that’s just to attract high-spending business types?

Try Wikipedia for each airport and scroll down to the airline section. I’ve found these to be pretty reliable and the entries usually note if a route a seasonal as well.

As an example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manchester_Airport shows just Billund and LHR

But which are the BA departure airports? The regional ones at least seem to change on a regular basis! From memory there are still some CityFlyer departures from EDI and SOU (?) but as these aren’t any use to me I don’t pay that much attention.

There is a website for exactly that: https://www.flightsfrom.com/

Select the airport then you can filter for the airline and see where they fly and what days.

Not the easiest to use so it takes a little bit of practice. Would recommend you use it on your PC instead of the phone.

It does and you don’t need to subscribe to see individual airline routes. Subscription enables alliances and multiple airlines.

You can also use Google Flights in ‘explore’ mode. Enter a starting airport/city like LON and hit explore. After that you can filter by alliance but sadly not airline.

Thanks all, given they will have an internal database of all routes it would be pretty straightforward for them to show that on a page on the website. I know BA IT is bad but they aren’t so bad they wouldn’t be able to show an up to day list of routes, feels like they have chosen to not show it for some reason.

I’m so glad you highlighted this, Birmingham is by far my closest airport … but can I find a list of where BA fly from from there? Nope. Am I even sure BA fly from Birmingham?! Nope. Madness

1 look at the airport website they usually list the airlines that operate from their.

2 ditto the airports wiki page

But what’s wrong with this page?

    https://www.britishairways.com/en-de/information/flight-information/our-route-network

It tells me BA don’t operate from BHX for starters.

Good point, thanks – that answers that question.

Sadly that page doesn’t tell me what flights go from which airports. If I click in to a destination it just globs all London airports together. When planning a short break driving to LGW vs LHR is a real consideration.

My guess is BA don’t do this because they may not want the ending of routes to be highlighted.

Sometime ago BA.com was changed to show all London airport routes irrespective of which London airport you select, so for example if I’m looking for LCY to BCN flights I get LHR flights as well and the Vueling codeshares on ba.com.

I could be very wrong but you can do a lot worse than looking at Seatspy.

SeatSpy doesn’t distinguish between London airports, it’s another PITA!

I’ve just realised I live 9 minutes closer to Manchester airport than I do to Gatwick … lumping all London airports together really is absurd BA

Which surely is a good thing to show people more options for flights and departure times you might not be aware of?

LON is there for wide searches, but not LON+SOU.

And I say it’s absurd for them not to.

It means we can see all the flight options together via one search instead of doing 3 separate ones.

@Richie if you want LON+SOU then use google flighte.

Yes, I’m just saying ba.com can’t do wide searches and really just isn’t powerful enough for people like me.

Sure but it doesn’t need to be mutually exclusive, you can lump them all together as a single city (although only people based in London would consider all 5 “London” airports to be equal options). Let me find out routes from the airports individually or as a single city.
