I just received an update to the Barclays Avios T&Cs. Has anybody spotted what the changes are? I didn’t see anything meaningful on my quick look. But maybe there’s something sneaky slipped in there…
Yes, mentioned in today’s chat. Barclays Premier is removing the ability to earn Avios via its home insurance range which, at 700 avios p/m was one of the most lucrative add-ons to the regular 1500 deposit.
It’s so annoying when such changes are not explicitly highlighted – life is too short to be carrying out side-by-side comparisons of multi-page legal jargon when it should be a simple matter for Barclays to provide a red-line or executive summary of changes (or ideally both)!

Nobody is asking you to carry out a side by side analysis. The change to T&Cs is accompanied by a letter that highlights this change right at the top of the letter in bold. The change is being made for regulatory reasons, not meanness.
JDB is right, although I can probably tell that there was some confusion arising from the fact that the two documents were both labelled as ‘Terms and Conditions’ which could lead to someone thinking it’s a simple duplication and only check one.
