Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Upgrade BA flight only to holiday for double tier points?

  • 9 posts

    Hello,
Someone I am traveling with has booked a flight only BA trip. Understanding that for an extra car hire cost, we could be getting double tier points. Is it possible to “upgrade” a flight only booking to a holiday to gain the double tier points?

    Cheers

No, I don’t think this is possible

No definitely not possible. The car has to be booked at the same time as the flight and has to be same length of time as flight booking and at least 5 days long. Turning a flight only booking into a holiday booking by subsequently adding elements is against the T&Cs for the double tier points promo.

You could try taking a FTV for the flight and try booking the whole thing as a BAH booking including the car hire. Only worth it if fares are lower than already paid

From the Ts&Cs, it has to all be done at one time in the booking – adding a car later doesn’t count. The only option they could take would be to cancel and get a voucher, but you can’t use vouchers on a BA holiday purchase so there would need to be something else for them to use that value on.

Thank you all! I thought about a FTV but the fare difference is almost £4000, and for that price I could do a few tier point runs!
