Hi all, I have a LHR-BKK via DOH booking for J cash for 4 pax. There is avios availability for DOH-BKK leg for F. If I do upgrade, will I still get the tier points from J? We credit to BAEC to keep silver so need the TPs, so in essence, does a QR UuA work the same as BA’s? Thanks.
Never done it but did you purchase the ticket from QR or BA? Pretty sure you can only upgrade a QR issued ticket. And if you do manage a UUA you should get the J tier points. Also pretty sure that upgrading to first with Avios will NOT grant you access to Al Safwa just the improved cabin on board.
How are you planning to upgrade using Avios? Is this via the Qatar Airways website or on BA.com?
Also how did you originally book the seats? If it was on the Qatar website then I am not sure if it’s possible to upgrade from BA.com. if you’re using Qatar website having transferred Avios from BAEC then I think you may find that the flights will be credited to Qatar Privelege rather than BAEC which defeats the object of earning TP on BAEC.
Thanks, yes everything is QR issued. We ended up upgrading and no Al Safwa is fine, however having some trouble removing Privilege Club details and now MMB has a weird mix of BAEC/QRPC details so getting increasingly concerned nothing is going to credit properly…
