Upgrade voucher

I have one of the barclaycard Avois vouchers in my ba account
I wish to go to lax return in business class 2 people , I have plenty of avios and wish to utilise the voucher
When I try to do this online it’s saying I don’t have enough vouchers for the trip
My understanding is that you can use the voucher for 2 people if upgrading 1 sector only
Does it mean you have to make 2 one way bookings then , 1 booking using the voucher OTB and then another booking for the INB using avios or is there an issue on BA.com

There is availability in all class for the selected dates

You will have to book your outbound separately for 2 people, selecting “Premium Economy” which will then automatically select an (upgraded) CW flight for you. This is just one of the problems with the voucher as it means you will have issues booking your inbound – if you want to travel home in CW as well you will be absolutely hammered for surcharges due to the way BA prices this for US departures.
I’ve just used mine to book CW to LAS. For the return I’m planning to book PE, as the “taxes” are much more reasonable and nearer what you’d pay for a return booking.

*That said, I don’t know if a CS agent could do the whole thing on the phone?
