Upgrade voucher – booking on partner airlines

I’m struggling to find flight availability in Premium Economy/Business Class for LHR to HKG so I can redeem the Barclaycard Upgrade voucher.

Is it possible to redeem the voucher on partner airline flights, ie Cathay non stop?

I’ve tried to get tickets to Hong Kong recently and found availability scarce. I used seatspy and found that there’s a pattern that BA releases a one or two LHR-HKG tickets (sometimes premium economy, sometimes business) for the next few days around 1:00 am (UK time). After waking up twice with seatspy alter emails but no tickets left on BA, I decided to stay up and try my luck.
Managed to get two Biz tickets in early August.

May worth staying up and have a try.
