Upgrade Voucher – Use after downgrading from Avios Plus to Avios ?

Hello,

I currently have the Barclaycard Avios Plus and have an upgrade voucher.
Is is possible to use the voucher if I downgrade from the Barclaycard Avios Plus to Barclaycard Avios ?

Has anyone actually done this?

Also can two people use the upgrade voucher – assuming that the card holder does not have to travel?

The voucher earner doesn’t need to be a traveller, but the booking has to be made via the voucher owner’s BA account.

But do I need to be holding the Barclaycard Avios Plus card which is £20pm? can I use if I downgrade to Barclaycard Avios which is a free card.

No, you don’t need to be holding either card once the voucher is in your BA account.
