I’m just planning what I need for an upcoming 241 booking and I was looking up the US phone numbers for BAEC to do the 241 booking at 00:00GMT (0100BST). The BA page says to login in to get the correct numbers, and when I did it seems to provide conflicting information, so I’m wondering if anyone knows which set of times are correct or maybe I am misunderstanding it.
At the top of the phone number page in red it says :
“To protect the welfare of our colleagues we’re temporarily reducing our contact centre opening hours to 3am – 11:30pm Monday to Friday, and 3am – 11:30pm Saturday and Sunday EST.”
When I select US from the drop down it says :
”
Tel: 1 800 356 7127 (from the USA)
+1 718 335 7070 (outside the USA)
Fax: +1 212 251 6767
Daily 0730-2000 Eastern”
So is the call centre open to 2000 or 2330? If it is closed is the call transferred to another open centre?
Are these really the best/correct numbers?
Thanks
Chris
A couple of days ago I tried the us freephone number through zoom which didn’t work. Didn’t try the outside us one which I probably should have tried next. Instead I used the Japan number. That worked but was on hold 40 mins before I got to speak to anyone.
Number I used was +81 3 3298 5209
You could try the us non-freephone number at 12.45 and see how you get on. If it doesn’t work switch to Japan.
Was a bit stressful the other night as 2 of the club world seats disappeared immediately by someone lucky who must have got straight through. Coming up to 1.30 I made an extra booking in case I lost the remaining 2 and am not sure yet if I’m going to get half my avios back.
I rang Japan a few weeks back to book the return leg of our Easter 2023 trip.
I was on hold for ages and after about half hour Skype cut me off for some reason. Called back and was picked up immediately. I’m guessing there are far fewer English speaking call staff, but his English was excellent and he knew exactly what I wanted and all sorted in about 15 mins.

Doesn’t matter which country you phone, most are staffed by teams “offshore” anyway. You’re getting through to the same teams regardless.
