Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Marriott Bonvoy Using Bonvoy Amex free night for hotel costing more than 25k points?

  • 8 posts

I was sure I read somewhere recently that a new rule had been introduced that allowed you to use your free night( generated when annual spend reaches £20,000 ) which is normally up to a limit of 25k points on a higher value room by adding some points?
I have had searched online and found no mention anywhere so I assume I must have dreamt it?
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Now coming in March / April apparently. Will let you add 15k max, so 40k total.

Thanks for confirming I didn’t just dream of it ! It explains why even the Bonvoy loyalty team had no clue what I was talking about when I got through to them .

Still ‘April’ based on what Marriott is saying to me, which doesn’t give them long!

Any recommendations on where to spend a free night voucher in the UK between 25-40K of points?

Used it at the University Arms Cambridge in the past and I recommend that

Are these vouchers a “use by” or “book by” against their expiry date?

This has changed recently a few times, but I believe that they are now ‘use by’. There were a few extensions during covid, and it used to be the case before that you could extend them by calling and asking, but I think that’s now all gone.
