Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Using Avios and Companion Voucher on Iberia

  • 9 posts

We are travelling to Lima next June. Advice needed on booking please….
We want to use our CV. I understand that the Iberia booking window opens before the BA window. Can I book on the outward flight on the Iberia website using a CV and then the return flight separately and then ring BA to get the Avios refund?
Also, I will have to transfer points to Iberia to do this. Can I easily transfer them back to BA without difficulty?
    Thank you

Yes you can do this but it all has to be booked via BA, not IB. You’ll have to call BA to book once IB releases the seats. There are a few threads on here about using the CV on IB which would be useful to read.

You probably know this but just in case. Your IB account must be at least 90 days old for transferring Avios. If it’s newer than that the system will block any transfers from another programme/ airline into your IB account.

It’s a hard rule as well. IE you couldn’t call them and ask them to authorise the transfer.

True, but in this instance OP doesn’t need to transfer avios as they need to book this from BA, not IB.
