Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Using BA companion voucher and barclays upgrade voucher

  • 28 posts

    Hi Guys

    Quick question

We are a family of 2 adults and 1 8 year old

If I was to book a trip purely using the computer and not calling the BA call centre

    Is this the correct procedure

When I find 3 biz class seats to my preferred destination

Click book with avios and use companion voucher

Add me and my lad and click search

When 3 biz class is available and 1 premium economy

Go ahead and book it for me and the lad

Then search same route for 1 adult using avios but no upgrade voucher

Book the wife in premium economy

But the million dollar question is

How do I upgrade her using the barclaycard voucher as no tab pops up to upgrade her using the voucher

    Any help is much appreciated

When using the Barclays voucher you book it as club and only pay PE points once the voucher is applied.

This will also be a separate booking than the one using the 2-4-1.

You have to start the Barclays booking from the “book and upgrade” tab. As already noted, this is going to have to be separate from your 241 booking.

You need CW availability to be there, but not PE.

    Great info Northern lass

    Thanks for this

Now I know how to do it

    On another note

I have been watching Singapore and Kuala Lumper 355 days out and the biz class seats seem to last for around 12 hours before they get snapped up

However I have never seen bkk on the seat spy or BA website

I assume they get snapped up within 1 hour

Or do they not even appear on availability online as they get snapped up 5 mins past midnight? By people on the phone calling 11.50pm?

Probably get snapped up very quickly, but also BKK is seasonal, so it depends which dates you’re looking at.
