    Hi All

Has anyone used the Barclays avios card via curve to pay off another credit card?

    If so… Is this a breach of the barclays t’s & c’s?

    Thanks

This forum has enough world-weary users to not answer this. Was it Aston100 who asked if these threads could be moved somewhere (akin to Room 101)

It’s frustrating that this has to be taboo, given it’s an advertised feature of Curve.

Then again, it’s the underlying cards who are all treating it differently. As Rob said in the comments on a recent article, there are enough reports of this going wrong to stop them promoting the product anymore, even for folks who aren’t using features like Curve Fronted.

It may be an advertised feature of Curve, but they do make it clear that use of Curve is subject both to their terms and those of the underlying cards, the providers of which take their own views about transactions that are allowed, ones they don’t like and ones they block. It’s pretty much impossible to provide a perfect guide, and things that work one day don’t necessarily work the next. There is one certainty however – the more any particular thing is talked about, the sooner that route will be closed, hence the ‘taboo’, so people are best to try things for themselves and assess the risks for themselves.

I think one thing we can say about Curve, due to its nature, is unreliable. I have been using it for less than a year. And even then it works one day and does not the next.
