Forums Payment cards American Express Using Platinum Dining credit in NYC

  • 25 posts

I’m heading over to NYC with my husband in a fortnight and still have my £150 international dining credit to use. We’ll be staying near 5th avenue but travelling around manhattan.

Any recommendations of where we could use the credit?

    Thanks!

We used one of our party’s Plat dining credit at Quality Meats at Easter. Very nice. Their sister restaurant Quality Italian is next block over and looked good too. Both are amongst the unfussy restaurants on the list.

Tribecca Grill – unfussy, smart-casual and friendly staff, nice location, nice food 🙂

No suggestions but a question, anyone know if I can use plat credit for just bars/drinks?

I can definitely give a +1 to quality meats, the food was great and the portions were huge. We also really enjoyed fish cheeks, I regularly think about the crab curry I had there 12 months later

We’re off to NYC this week so I put all of the locations currently on the Dining Credit up on Google Maps:

I used mine at City Winery a couple of years ago. Just make sure you keep the receipt as they initially didn’t want to pay out because the address Amex have didn’t match the address the card machine used.

Dined there with family on Friday night, no sign of DeNiro but a nice place and more apt for us than the Michelin type places on the list. Just waiting for the credit to post now.

An odd ball on the list is Sylvia’s soul food place up in Harlem. Not been in 20 years, would have returned except that the recent reviews were not good.

Yes, I did this in NYC and just went for cocktails at Dear Irving in Gramercy.
