I want to use the offer to book a flight to US ..LA, San Fran it Vegas, possibly open jaw.
But I’m abroad till 28th deadline date, calls cost £1/min.
Anyway I can book online to bank the lower points and later use a voucher to upgrade the booking?
Ah should’ve mentioned. My UK network is charging me £1 a min to call a UK home number from South Africa (where I’m currently travelling)
Find wifi
Download Skype
Get a skype account/add some credit
Using Skype, dial US Virgin freephone number (which routes to the UK during certain hours)
Hope this works out.
PS You may have to buy a Skype subscription initially (not sure) – but it’s really good for when you’re overseas and you can pick an easy telephone number if there is one available.
Definitely go the Skype route rather than paying full points and then trying to apply the voucher retrospectively. When I tried that last year I was told that they would have to cancel my bookings and hope they went back into reward inventory to re-book – not a chance you want to take I think!
