Forums Other Destination advice Victoria Falls from South Africa or Kenya

    Good morning all.

I have looked on Google flights but not with very much success. Does anyone know if there are any no frills airlines or airlines in general that fly to Victoria falls area? Most of the flights I have found are over £400 each which felt a lot for a shortish flight.

We were considering an African holiday using the current offer from Ethiopian airlines deals which look quite good. (Thanks Rob and team)

Have you looked at both airports – Vic Falls (Zimbabwe) and Livingstone (Zambia)? Kasane (Botswana) is also nearby.

If you are searching for “Livingstone” airport it is worth noting it has changed name. IATA code remains LVI though so if you are searching with that it won’t be the reason you are struggling.
Last time I used proflight Zambia from Lusaka, but I’m sure Ethiopian also fly from LUN.
As above, you need to decide which side of the falls you are aiming for. There is definitely a thread on this in the destinations forum.

This might not be what you’re looking for, however, we got a really good deal using Kenya Airways CPT-VFA-NBO-LHR: https://www.google.com/travel/flights/s/E9yADmtYtJKAD7Dh9. Seems to be very flexible with dates.
Kenya Airways also operate via Livingstone on some days (CPT-LVI-NBO).

Thank you, we found a small problem with our ideas of Victoria falls, November is peak low water season so there is minimal falls to see. I think we might have to change that part of the plan.

If flying from South Africa, FlySafair have recently started flights from Johannesburg to both VFA an LIV and I can highly recommend them as a cheap no-frills option. I have used them several times for domestic flights within South Africa. If you are visiting another city in SA (e.g. Cape Town), you should also be able to connect directly with them.
