Interesting. What was the use case for the free one if you had the paid one!? What transactions would you ever put through it?

My card also renews in April, hope they don’t close it down!
Also went over CL recently, but caught it on the same day and wasn’t even charged a fee (the lousy IT that made me go over the limit probably saved me from the fee).

Get two vouchers in one year?

Yes getting two vouchers in one year, and also to get more Virgin points by having two cards!

Whilst i would always use the paid for card to maximise points, as you probably know as soon as you have hit your credit limit that month you can not earn any extra points beyond your credit limit, so by having both cards i could still add to my points collection, obviously at a lower rate compared to the main card though.

Fair enough! I had assumed that the ‘free’ voucher was a bit naff compared to the paid one, as with Amex.

But on the latter point- by not having a credit line associated with the second card, perhaps Virgin would’ve given you a greater credit limit on the primary card!? And thus all spending could be at 1.5 pts/£?
