Virgin Holidays £250 cashback for £5000 spend

Hi all,

I have booked a holiday through a Virgin Holidays store but I can log in and pay the outstanding balance through the Virgin Holidays website. Does anyone know if this will trigger the £250 cashback? I wonder how Amex would distinguish between new bookings or settling an outstanding balance.

This worked for me last time. I had an existing booking (deposit paid) and I simply made a further payment using Amex on the VH website.
Cashback was in my Amex account a few days later.
