Virgin card bonus query

I applied for a Virgin+ card in late August 2023 for the 15k bonus offer. On 4 Sepember the bonus was increased to 30k. I recall on the HfP site that the larger bonus would be backdated but Virgin are disputing this. Anyone have any correspondence on this?

Card offers are never backdated beyond the official start date.
