Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Virgin start Seoul service 29th March 2026

  • 179 posts

Launching on 29 March 2026, we’re flying direct from London Heathrow (LHR) to Seoul Incheon (ICN) every day. It’s our first-ever South Korean service, giving UK businesses an easy connection to one of Asia’s most powerful economies.

Lets see how long it lasts, or even if it starts LOL

Yes, at least Virgin has given itself the best part of a year to add Seoul to its list of cancelled routes.

It’s with B789 coffin J class seats though.

Finally! Will this replace the Asiana flight or will it be extra LHR-ICN capacity?

Amazing! Have a companion voucher due to expire in May 2026. Hopefully I can book, and then await rebooking with Korean in the event they do cancel it!

Shai Weiss’s post said it offered the “opportunity” to fly there on the 787. I reread it a couple of times trying to find “refurbished” hidden there to make it an opportunity. I mean I don’t hate hate them because I’m a tiny person, but certainly not volunteering to do a 14 hour flight in them when there are other options.

I imagine the points price will be stratospheric if planning reasonably in advance? I was looking forward to a trip to Seoul with our last credit card voucher, ah, well.

They are probably gambling on Russia overflying rights being restored by then, else as you say likely cancelled before launch

Aren’t they required to fly this route as part of the merger of the two Korean airlines?

That’s good news but 95% of interest immediately lost on the basis of them using the ancient coffin layout with zero privacy. Ffs.

We did coffin class to PVG a few years ago, wasn’t THAT bad…..

Whilst flights are now showing on the Virgin website, none are showing yet when searching for reward bookings. Anyone have any experience on when we should expect reward inventory to become available?

I can see award flights now when searching but not in the reward finder so have to do manual dates to get prices.

reward flights showing on the website, some saver prices for premium and upper

Best I can see out is 78000 in upper, nothing back that’s reasonable. Premium back on 8th April is 56000, total of 134000 plus £674 in tax. Timings aren’t the best either. Return is a day flight, outward is overnight but as you are taking off at 9.45am what’s the chance of solid sleep?

Booked 2x return flights lhr/icn today in upper class.

We are using this trip to get to Japan as we had previously booked with BA for a trip just as the world shut down because of Covid.

Sure its the old layout but we had two downgrade vouchers to use so the flights didnt cost a single point or penny!
