Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Virgin Upper Class wing arrival by car

Not wishing to miss the privilege of using the Upper Class wing arrivals procedure and avoid the long walk from the central station I looked into getting off the Elizabeth line at Hayes and Harlington and taking an Ubrr. I was pleasantly surprised to find the train Farre to Hayes & Harlington was £15.35 whereas the fare to Heathrow was £22. The saving almost paid for the Uber and I could arrive in style!

Yes, it’s not far at all. If you are staying at the Courtyard or other nearby hotels (Best Western, perish the thought) then H&H plus the bus from outside (U98?) is quick.

We always book a cab to drop us off at the private wing, it’s really special way arriving. You have to be careful instructing the driver as they want to drive past the left turn

Not like it used to be.

Arrived by Uber today and the Concierge/Porter was as miserable as ¥$$¢. After I unloaded the luggage, he just grunted toward the desks.

The new style Security took an age to get through. I only had a small document wallet in the tray and it took 5 minutes to be scanned. Perhaps they use the quieter UC Security lane to train new staff.

Sadly, I got the treble as the toilets inside the UC Lounge are filthy. Not the cubicle but the area around the toilet seat fastening. Looked like hadn’t been cleaned in weeks; yuck.

That’s certainly strange – my experience is usually the polar opposite. To help everyone get a better experience, maybe email customer.care@fly.virgin.com and let them know?

I too find it very strange. After our taxi driver takes our suitcases to put in the boot we don’t touch them until it comes off the carousel at destination. We have always find the Virgin staff come out to the car and take the suitcases straight off the taxi driver. As for security again a stroll through. Last time we experienced it was last month when we enjoyed 90 minutes in the Virgin lounge.
