The new ship is delayed and so other ships are covering its routes and so existing routes are cancelled. I don’t get the logic in that. Why not cancel new routes that no one has been on instead of existing routes where people have done them and potentially recommended to others who would have done them next year?

If they don’t do points deals next year I’ll be devastated. We really wanted to do the Adriatic cruise next year after loving the Greek one this summer.

The Caribbean routes that Brilliant was supposed to do are much more popular than the Med ones. So better to cancel the less popular routes.

I did the Adriatic last year and have just booked (using actual cash) for Greek islands this year.

Sadly these things happen. Plus point might get to
Do a little one to Amsterdam, which might be good way to introduce friends to it, plus there might be a points options for those ones

The new ship isn’t finished. They had to move things around.

I’ve been on four VV now (3 points, 1 cash). Have another cash booking for next year and waiting to see how much the UK bookings are for when they go on sale Monday. It’s a great product.

You can still do the Adriatic Sea cruise next year – we’re booked onto it for 7th Jul 2024.

VV are not the only cruise line to cancel voyages and they won’t be the last. MSC cancelled on us this year with far less notice, and no perks at all. Thankfully that left from Southampton so it didn’t really affect me other than shifting holiday days around!

It’s why we have travel insurance.

    The new ship isn’t finished.

I don’t believe that to be true. I was told that the yard building it has managed to deliver every other boat on schedule and even the statement on the VV website is very vague, adding in ‘staffing’ and a number of other reasons for the cancellation.

Seems like they don’t want to make the final payment until volumes pick up on the existing fleet.
