Apparently a big announcement due today, is this the big announcement? 😂😂😂
And this afternoon they’ve announced 100 Virgin Red points per person per night earned for cruises booked directly through Virgin Voyages.
That’s right 100 points per night per person …🤣🤣I mean really ? Why bother ?I suspect the big announcement is that you can book any available Central Sea Terrace cabin on VV cruiss with Virgin Points.

That’s right 100 points per night per person …🤣🤣I mean really ? Why bother ?I checked a 5 night sailing (Dominican Daze) for 26/9 this year. Cash price for a central sea terrace is £2082. Points required are 390,000.
Looks like .005p value per point. I’ll give it a missNew itineraries until 2027 released today…..no error fares unfortunately from what I can see 😂
So @Tracy Did you pull the trigger for the Reykavik trip ? It’s costing me more for a days care hire than it is for getting me from LHR to KEV via OSL (for two of us ) with bags 😳😳
@Dragonlady, no I didn’t book the Reykjavik trip, the itinerary just didn’t grab me enough…still on the hunt for a great deal on a great itinerary (not gonna happen I’m sure 😂)
@Tracy 😢😢 Sorry I won’t be seeing you on board 😢
Im chuffed with my (yet another )bargain basement fare for 11 nights 😀 Sadly I can’t see VV being able to sustain itself as is…@Dragonlady, I’m a bargain basement shopper too 😂. Still want designer items for that price though…
I’ve just booked flights to US using the United Amex offer (not sure I’ve done it right tho 😊) so I can cruise there instead.Anyone seen the latest Virgin Points offers for the cruises.
My wife and I have done three 7 days cruises. 90,000, 80,000 and last year 160,000 points. This year we have a 5 nights from Lisbon which was about 160,000 points. It’s now for a 7 day European cruise circa 600k to 800k!!!!
We loved our Virgin cruises and looking forward to the 5 day cruise in July but there is no value anymore. We will look at cash in the future but will compare with other cruise options. We normally do one cruise a year
Yes – lots reported on it earlier in this thread ( and another ).Several are now 1,000,000 plus .
There have been a few cash ‘bargains’ but they’ve seemingly disappeared again.@Dragonlady, lol, have pulled the trigger and booked the Reykjavik cruise, insider price dropped to £690 for the 11 nights….
Had to cancel my back to back cruises New York/Quebec/Miami due to stupid maritime law 😭, so this is the replacement.@Dragonlady, lol, have pulled the trigger and booked the Reykjavik cruise, insider price dropped to £690 for the 11 nights….

@jkt best price I could find was with cruisenation. Think it’s still this price today….

Had to cancel my back to back cruises New York/Quebec/Miami due to stupid maritime law 😭, so this is the replacement.Woo hoo ! It’s back up to £1200 ish ( which it had been for a while ). Got to snag the bargains as soon as you see them 😀😀 It’ll be interesting to see how the Insta / FB mob fare with the temperatures. Can’t see many people lolling around the pool on sea days (unless they’re wearing jumpers ). I’m not sure some of the passengers are really aware of how chilly it’s likely to be 🤣🤣🤣
@Tracy – what’s the maritime law issue with the back to back you’d booked ?
@Dragonlady, my 2 back to back cruises got classed effectively as one cruise starting at one port and ending at another port (New York to Miami). According to us maritime law and the jones act, in the case of different starting and ending ports both within the us, the ship must visit a “distant” foreign port and none of the stops on the cruise were classed as “distant” enough so no-one can sail them back to back according to VV. I was gutted I had to cancel 😭
We’re from Scotland so will probably be warm enough lol. Hats and gloves rather than bikinis I think…@Dragonlady, lol, have pulled the trigger and booked the Reykjavik cruise, insider price dropped to £690 for the 11 nights….

I can’t see it, at anything close to this price. Would you be able to link please?
@PaulB, I checked yesterday and it was still £690. Checked just now and the insider cabin is now £868. The better offer now is £930 for sea terrace I’d suggest…

This is on the Cruisenation site? Will keep an eye on there in the future.
Afternoon,
So it looks like I won’t be using points to book a VV cruise this year after the massive increase. Can anyone suggest the best route to perhaps obtain a discount on a VV cruise or is booking direct the best/cheapest option? I see Cruise Nation appears popular, does anyone have any feedback about them and can it work out cheaper to book through a cruise travel agent? Thanks
@Mayfield I’m sailing next week . Never used them ( Cruise Nation ) before but they were way cheaper than booking with VV direct ( my usual route ). The only issue I had was that they didn’t add my DBE number but I sorted that out by calling VV directly.
You’re right about points redemptions – totally bonkers now !@Mayfield I’m sailing next week . You’re right about points redemptions – totally bonkers now !Thanks for your reply. We had our first cruise last year 160,000 Virgin points. Enjoyed it so much that we took the opportunity of the VV offer and booked a second one. I was hoping for another on points this year and almost (so glad i didn’t) purchased a few thousand pounds worth of points in one of the 70% offers.
I have considered a cruise with other cruise line but from chatting onboard the virgin cruise, most people said the virgin experience was the best they’d had! Costa and MSC seem to have some offers but I don’t want to be disappointed v VV!
Enjoy the cruise!
