    Hi there. I recently bought the Voyageur card inspired by an Hfp article and plans to stay in a whole host of Accor hotels in the next year, in particular during a stay in Egypt over New Year where I am planning to stay in 2 Sofitels and 1 Movenpick. However, what I am finding are a significant number of hotels that are part of the scheme not offering Voyageur rates or only offering them on advance payment rates rather than any fully flexible/pay at hotel rates. Having contacted numerous hotels directly they have then added them or tried to get me to book via email with them. There are 8 Movenpick hotels in Egypt and not a single one has any Voyageur rates at any time. I have also looked at a couple of MGallery hotels in Paris that should also have the rates and they too are missing. I approached ALL customer service and they reached out to a whole load of hotels and some have sorted them out.

    However, I feel strongly that this is really out of order. If brands are included in Voyageur the rates should be easily accessible and be fully flexible but there appears to be a real issue here. Has anyone else had this problem?

    When you signed up for the scheme did you bother to read Terms and Conditions?

    List of non-participating hotels is clearly listed and it’s also updated regularly. The T&C mention that there are restrictions during peak periods and special events.

    I read the terms and conditions very carefully. There are a very limited number of non-participating hotels that I am fully aware of and I am talking about zero availability of voyageur rates on ANY day in the next year. The delivery of the scheme clearly doesn’t match up to the alleged terms. Sorry if I feel that your response is excessively condescending. My comment that ALL have corrected some following my complaint clearly demonstrates a deficiency in their delivery and I also clearly stated this was on any date rather than special events etc.

    I suggest you read the final paragraph of 2.2 of Terms&Conditions, the first paragraph 2.2.1 about permanent price reduction and voyageur rates not applicable and third paragraph of 3.2.1

    I would think that dates over New Years’ fall under special events.

    ALL have only corrected some, not all prices and it doesn’t mean that they will in the future.

    My comment comes from the fact that people don’t read properly what they are buying and then complain. As a matter of fact, I have also purchased membership and have so far after three bookings been very impressed.

    I was aware of the disclaimer and have checked every day of the year – I have seen zero evidence of lack of availability on specific dates, it has been all or nothing. The Movenpick Aswan has offered me the rate via email but claims “technical problems” prevent the rates showing online – seems more likely a sneaky way of avoiding offering them with most people just assuming they arent available and booking anyway. 2 Sofitels added the rates online after I pointed out they were missing.
    I agree on paper its a great thing but my point is the practical delivery seems to be sorely lacking and it shouldnt have to be such hard work to access the rates.
