    Flex Pack
Cancel your booking up to 48 hours before departure and get back the amount in the form of Flight Credit.
Change your flight up to 2 hours before departure without paying the change fee (only the fare difference, if any).

Does anyone have any experience on whether it’s possible to change your flight right before the 2 hour limit and then proceed to cancel, on the basis that the new flight is now more than 48 hours in the future. Seems like too obvious a loophole but curious to know if it works.

Good place to publish this if it does 🤷

You could take one for the team …

But most airlines (and hotels) have cottoned onto this type of manoeuvre and have blocked them.

Not tried it, but Vueling are usually pretty smart over these things so I wouldn’t expect it to work.

Not sure what you are trying to do, but maybe book tha basic fare, then you can always add any needed ancillaries when you know if you will take the flight or not. Then you are only at risk for the cheaper fare.

Thanks, I will most likely attempt this and report back. I booked an expensive VY flight (with Flex Pack) as a backup to a BA flight that is likely to be disrupted by industrial action on a day when I have no flexibility to postpone or bring forward my travel. VY is not affected by the industrial action. If BA does operate, I will not use the VY flight and will legitimately change it to a future date shortly before the two-hour cutoff. What I am unsure about is whether I can then subsequently cancel the entire ticket, given that it is substantially more expensive than the official fare for the flight I would be changing it to.
